Products Description
The BW850/5 is a high-performance mud pump for water well drilling, designed for continuous fluid circulation in medium to deep drilling projects. As a horizontal, double-cylinder, double-acting reciprocating piston pump, it delivers stable and reliable flushing fluid to the borehole, supporting efficient drilling operations under demanding site conditions.
This mud pump is mainly used to supply drilling mud or clean water to cool the drill bit, transport cuttings to the surface, and maintain borehole stability during water well drilling. When matched with large-diameter drilling rigs, the BW850/5 can support drilling depths of up to 1,000 meters, helping improve drilling efficiency and overall borehole quality.
With its compact layout and balanced mechanical structure, the BW850/5 mud pump operates smoothly with low vibration and consistent output. Multiple drive options-including electric, diesel, and hydraulic motors-allow the pump to adapt to different power conditions on site, making it a practical solution for water well drilling and related engineering projects.

Common Faults of Mud Pumps
1. Insufficient Priming
Air accumulation in the suction pipeline prevents the pump from operating normally, usually caused by incomplete priming or air leaks in the pipeline.
Solution: Ensure the suction pipeline is fully primed with water and inspect for any leaks.
2. Damaged Valve Seats or Plates
Worn/damaged valve seats, plates, or springs, or blockages from foreign objects, will impair the pump's fluid discharge efficiency.
Solution: Check and replace damaged or blocked components promptly.
3. Bearing Malfunctions
Bearing wear or failure may occur due to insufficient lubrication or contaminated lubricant.
Solution: Add or replace lubricating oil as required, and adjust or replace the bearings if necessary.
4. Suction Pipeline Blockage
Debris in the inlet pipe or loose connections allowing air ingress will disrupt the suction process.
Solution: Thoroughly clean the inlet pipe and ensure all connections are tightly sealed.
5. Impeller Wear
A worn or damaged impeller will reduce the pump's flow and pressure performance.
Solution: Replace the impeller immediately if significant wear or damage is detected.
