what is a Diamond Core Drill Rig?
The RCJ130W is a diamond core drill rig designed for shallow hole operations up to 130 meters, suitable for geological exploration projects that require high core quality. It uses high-hardness diamond drill bits embedded with synthetic diamond particles to grind through rock formations. This process cuts rock by abrasion rather than percussion, making it especially suitable for hard formations such as granite and basalt.
This drilling method creates an annular borehole while preserving the center portion of the rock (the core) intact inside the core tube, which is directly connected to the diamond bit. Once drilling reaches the target depth or core length, the entire drill string must be lifted to retrieve the core. While this method results in lower efficiency compared to wireline coring systems, due to the need for repeated lifting and core tube replacement, it ensures high core integrity and detailed geological data.
